Inner Peace
I am writing this blog after a very long time. Yes, indeed this is one thing always there on the back of my mind, on my low priority list. The content has come from a few sources mainly thoughts that pondered during my morning walk, looking at the flowers, birds and also about the recent movie clips.
The base thoughts in my mind started with the
- WIIFM – What’s In It For Me? and
- "பணம் (Money) / பதவி (Designation) / புகழ் (Popularity) "
In my early school days, my teacher did ask us a question of what is important and what is meant by success for each one of us. She paused for moments and allowed us to think and come back. Her lecture started with those three letters three Tamil words (பணம் (Money), பதவி (Title), புகழ்(Popularity) ). She did tell us all of them are part of our life. The true one who succeeds does not go behind them. Instead, the one stays composed and makes meaning out of their life while all the three embrace them. The passion in you should strive ahead rather than the power, popularity and prosperity.
I switched my thoughts to a movie which I watched recently titled “Kesari”, in which 21 inspiring Sikh warriors fought the Battle of Saragarhi with a purpose. In my own understanding, the purpose of the battle is not for Money, not for the Job. It is all about having the courage to defend the motherland and driving self-satisfaction.
The success comes out when we have great satisfaction on the way we do our things. I looked at a sparrow fly across. It had no intentions to portray anyone that it can fly. From this we can extract a value – You need not prove anyone for what you are.
We all know the life has always ups and downs. When we are at high notes, our state of mind should feel the pride, at the same time it also should be grounded. When we are in downs the best way is to come out of it is by thinking and learning from the downs. In all, it about, always about enjoying the moment we live.
I stepped out of the park with the “ups & downs”, “WIIFM” and with lots of inner satisfaction.
The moment was further cherished when I looked at my dad driving his scooter out of home and on his way to a shop. The reason for my happiness was that a week back he was unable to even stand on his own and needed hospitalization. I had to inject him with the belief that the painful sickness is only a momentary and he needs to come out with flying colours. This is the thought he imposed on us in our early bring up days.
Immediately my thoughts drifted to my children, My beloved daughter and my son who gave a reason for my smile and step-ahead. The final thoughts ended up with life and work for pleasure and not for pressure. This will drive the joy of doing and giving Inner Peace.
