Thinking about Thoughts

Thinking about Thoughts I am dedicating this article to my wife Priya & beloved friend Senthil, provoking the concept of Thinking vs Thoughts. As we went for a walk, one of the thoughts that occurred is about the Touch-Me-Not Plant. We were wondering about the time that it takes by the Touch-Me-Not plan to open back. The experiment of finding the behaviour of Touch-Me-Not plant provided more fuel to our discussion.    As humans, how do you feel/realize or understand "the sixth sense"? The question of realizing the sense means, we do something different from other biological ecosystems. Aligning to our organs the sense we aware are Touch, Sight, Hear, Smell, and Taste. Along with this, we also know the sense of space. Now switch back to Plants & Animals, Touch-Me-Not plant experiment, we did blow and see can it behave differently. That allowed us to think differently right? The experiment provided us to realize it also works on the feel, the leaves folded up when t...

Truly passionate...

Thought that is in my mind for a few days that Can Passion land you into Obsession and put anyone in risk? If so, what are the ways out? Let us examine in a free flow. First, what is a big deal on passionate about an activity which you truly love and want to make a difference? why it is needed to go on a dark side and look about it. As we all know, inner passion is a successful driving factor for any individual. In my early schooling days, I enjoyed working with numbers, that helped me to work on puzzles over some time. Truly, I am not that great with them. At one point when I started solving Sudoko crazily and then few others stuff I started enjoying every bit of it. Every day I look at news for statistics on the cricket game. I tracked every news about the cricket either international or local-only because the numbers that pulled the inner kick. Suddenly one fine day, I still remember after returning from school, I went mad with my brother and threw the lunch box at him, just because...

Prevention, Preparation better than Paying Price

Greetings, It is 29th April 2020, morning 7:00 AM in Bangalore India. A day started with rains. It was drizzling and low-intensity rains throughout the night and the morning. The scene brought up the thoughts of Rainy days and with current COVID-19 situation of how we can be better prepared.  Let us start with our childhood familiar story of Ant & Grasshopper. Ants hard-work and savings for the rainy days versus Grasshoppers flamboyance of living the life as it goes. What do you want the behaviours to be? Once we know that need to adapt, how do we cultivate new habits?  No brainer instant answers in our minds are 21-days practise. Taking a pause and going to the old days of learning pedagogy, the way the gurukul operates for learning are based on constant and consistent listening (not just hearing). It is incredible to see, learn on how our ancestors did Transfer Of Information with no reference books during the learning times. How could we learn from them?...

Experiencing the WHY

A thought, that came across quite a few times recently about WHY?. Take it any topic, people, technology, business, trade, politics all have one common thing to success, understanding the WHY. I started analyzing it a bit to see if I can understand the WHY and came across the book by SIMON SINEK, titled START WITH WHY. Yes, that is a great inspiration to read how GREAT leaders inspire everyone to take action. Hence this article. Before we proceed, let me make it clear, this write up is to put what is going in my mind and just that and nothing more or nothing less and kindly do refrain from internalizing it any other means. In my honest opinion, I see that if one has to experience or understand why the first fundamental thing comes to the mind is the sixth sense. Ability to think, relate, be creative etc. for a purpose. The purpose can be anything. The purpose will direct the WHY. Let me call out an example if I have to buy a thing, say PC, the first thing is WHY a PC is needed? T...

Thiruvananthapurum Divya Desam Sevai

The Temple one should never miss out in visiting for a lifetime. My second visit to the city and the temple. After a gap of 7 years coming back to the temple and getting the blessings of Lord Padmanabhan is a spiritual experience that I have been longing internally.  I thought it might be useful to write a blog about the temple, and it is in 108 Divya Desams. You can get to know more about the temple  here . The beauty is the cleanness and the calmness it provides to you. When we see the structure of the temple, we can see the difficulty in raising without big machines which are to build our roads and bridges. I always wonder what would have been the technology behind ancient buildings. How could the massive structures with so much of arts with more precision? How did we miss those in our current days? Coming back to the Sevai (Dharshan), the Lotus eyes, cheering face, the soft invitation to the attachments and disconnecting this world, allowing to put our soul...

Contradictions & Complementary, a Convergence (C-Cube)

Contradictions & Complementary, a Convergence  ( C 3 ) How about contradictions and complementing converge? Does it create chaos? Does it have more conflicts? Where does it head to? A decade and a half ago, when we (myself & my wife) joined together for the next phase of our journey with lots of affection, ambitions, and anxiety. We discuss and follow on some unwritten protocols to conclude and take things forward. We admire each other on the skills that we possess. One has life skills of fairness to openness and think out of the box with the ability to learn from travel experiences. The other has deeply, inside looking on details of execution. The change in the role does come into play as well. The fineness of role rotation aided in improving the skills that one possess and learning a few as well. I admire my wife for her ability to communicate. She has a passion for language. Her love and joy for learning languages drives her to success. While she enjoys herself...

Inner Peace

Inner Peace Inner Peace I am writing this blog after a very long time. Yes, indeed this is one thing always there on the back of my mind, on my low priority list. The content has come from a few sources mainly thoughts that pondered during my morning walk, looking at the flowers, birds and also about the recent movie clips. The base thoughts in my mind started with the WIIFM – What’s In It For Me? and "பணம் ( Money ) / பதவி ( Designation ) / புகழ் ( Popularity ) " In my early school days, my teacher did ask us a question of what is important and what is meant by success for each one of us. She paused for moments and allowed us to think and come back. Her lecture started with those three letters three Tamil words (பணம் ( Money ), பதவி ( Title ), புகழ்( Popularity ) ). She did tell us all of them are part of our life. The true one who succeeds does not go behind them. Instead, the one stays composed and makes meaning out of their life while all ...
